How to get there?

By Air

The closest airport to Milton Keynes Central is London Luton (LTN).
All other airports in the London area are, nonetheless, connected to Milton Keynes via
bus/train (see options below).

By Train

The MK Central station is served by the West Coast Mainline which runs from London, Euston (just 35 minutes away) through MK to Birmingham and on to Manchester and then Scotland. Two services operate from the station: London Northwestern Railway and Virgin Trains.

The train station is located just 8 min away from the competition venue, by car.

By Bus

Transportation from/to all main airports in the London area is served by National Express.
Please refer to their website to find which other destinations are also covered.
Local bus transports within Milton Keynes are served by ARRIVA.

By Car (Parking info)

The competition venue is conveniently located next to the centre:mk multi-storey car park, MK9 3QA (Marlborough Gate).

  • Mon-Sat up to 3 hrs £2 – Up to 4 hours £3 – Up to 5 hours £4 – Up to 6 hours £5.
  • Sun up to 2 hours £1, all day £2

In addition, there are many Pay & Display parking spaces within the city centre; charges vary depending on the different areas but the highest charges are £2 per hour, although after 6pm it is all FREE to park.

What expenses will be covered and how to claim them?

The Open University will cover the expenses incurred by teams in the context of their participation to the SciRoc Competition, up to GBP 1K in total for each team. The relevant claim forms and documentation will be sent to the teams separately.

Where and when can we ship our robot prior to the competition?

Dedicated storage space will be available for all participating teams from 1 August to 30 September. Please send your equipment to the following address:
