Attending the event

The city of Bologna will host the second edition of SciRoc from the 6th – 10th September 2021. The event will take place at the historic Palazzo Re Enzo in Piazza Maggiore, the central square and heart of Bologna. SciRoc will be an exciting but socially-distant event and we invite members of the public to come and watch our 14 international teams compete across 5 unique challenges.

The competition itself will take place on Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th September and is open to the public and free to attend on these days.

There are five challenges that our teams will compete in. Each challenge will take place in a different location throughout Palazzo Re Enzo. Come and meet our teams and their robots, wander through this beautiful building and observe the latest in European Robotics. We encourage you to chat to our teams, experts and global sponsors and we will have staff on hand to explain each challenge and answer any of your questions.

No need to register for the event. Just join us at Palazzo Re Enzo any time between 09.30 – 17.30 to watch the competition in full swing and meet our teams.

Please note: Anyone wishing to visit Palazzo Re Enzo will be required to show a green pass to enter, as per current Italian regulations. More details on the green pass, and how to obtain one, are available here.

The final for each challenge will take place in the afternoon of Friday 10th September. We will then have our awards ceremony from 18.30 onwards to declare our 2021 SciRoc winners. Members of the public are welcome to attend the ceremony.

The ceremony is followed by our public debate, starting at 19.30 at Cortile Guido Fanti. Everyone is welcome to attend and we invite you to meet our researchers to discuss Robots, Smart Cities and Inclusion. Come and join the conversation. The debate is free to attend, and again no need to register. Just join us from 19.30 onwards.

Our full schedule is available here.

If you cannot make it to Bologna then there is no need to miss out! We will be live streaming the event right here on the SciRoc website. Our stream will be available on this page closer to the event, and will capture the competition as it happens.

We look forward to seeing many of you (in person and virtually) in Bologna!
